Wuri faced intense challenges including high customer acquisition costs, difficulties in scaling, and fierce competition from similar AI applications that lacked strong differentiation. The founder, Akshay Megharaj, noted that the extremely fast pace of AI development made it impossible to rely on traditional strategies or past experiences to remain competitive.
