O'Be Cocktails was a Bengaluru-based ready-to-drink (RTD) alcoholic beverage brand founded by Nitesh Prakash. Backed by investors including Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal, First Cheque, LetsVenture, and Inflection Point Ventures, the brand produced crafted, ready-to-serve bottled cocktails (such as Cosmopolitan, Mojito, LIIT, and Gin & Tonic) across 9 Indian states and Bhutan.
Cause of Death
Founder and CEO Nitesh Prakash announced the shutdown via LinkedIn, stating that after extensive retrospection, the team realized the Indian Alcobev market operates as a heavily commoditized and distribution-heavy industry rather than a consumer-backed brand play, which misaligned with their vision of maintaining a premium cocktail experience. Additionally, after spending a year attempting to find a buyer or M&A exit, the company exhausted all options to sell the business.
